Learn MYOS
Your assistant
Your assistant is Claude Code running inside your vault with the vault's own instructions loaded. It is the same AI you already have, given a place to stand, a memory to read, and a set of rules about how to behave.
Why it has a name
The kit ships with a default name, Heather, and you can change it during setup or any time after. The rename is a find and replace across the files, and your assistant does it for you.
The name is not decoration. Naming it changes how you talk to it, from typing queries at a tool to briefing a colleague who already knows the background. That is the working mode MYOS is built around, and it is the mode that produces useful answers.
What it can do
It reads and writes files anywhere in your vault, which is how anything gets recorded at all.
It runs commands on your machine when you approve them, which is how it installs things, checks things, and sets up new capability. Trust and permissions covers exactly what it may do without asking.
It sends interns. When something needs research or a wide search, it spawns a background agent that does the work in its own space and reports back a summary. Your conversation stays clean and you still get the answer.
It delegates to specialists. The kit ships a set of agents for the recurring jobs, including scoping a piece of work, planning it, building it, reviewing it, and the archiving pass that files finished work back into your vault. You never call them by name. You say what you want and it routes.
It can pick up new tools. If you connect a calendar or an inbox, those become things it can do inside the same conversation where it knows your work.
What it cannot do
It remembers nothing between sessions. Close the window and every fact about you that is not written into a file is gone. This is the single most important thing to understand, and it is the reason the vault exists.
It is not present when you are not. Nothing happens in your vault while you are away from the machine. Rhythms explains what "every morning" honestly means here.
It cannot read what you have not given it. It does not see your email, your calendar, your phone or your other folders unless you deliberately connect them.
Being honest about what it is
It is a language model. It is fluent, fast, and sometimes confidently wrong. It can invent a detail that reads exactly like the true ones around it.
Two things make that manageable. Everything it does is a plain file you can read, so its work is inspectable rather than hidden inside an app. And the vault keeps a history if you turn one on, so a bad edit is recoverable.
Treat it as a very capable colleague on their first month. Brief it well, read what it produces, and tell it when it is wrong. It will change the file.
